The Issue

Every election deals with a variety of issues. This election is different. In this election the American people are faced with one overarching issue that transcends all others. Yes, the health care legislation is pernicious, yes the economy is bad, yes our foreign policy is stumbling, but more important than any of those, is the fact that the foundations of our Democracy are under assault.

For the first time in our history a major political party has adopted an internal structure that closely resembles that of the former Soviet Union. In the Soviet Union, the party elite would determine the policies for the country. Those policies were given to the members of the party who dutifully “voted” for those policies. Those members were called apparatchik (apparatus) a Russian term for blindly devoted officials. Then the government would propagandize the people to try and convince them that those policies were best for them. It was the rule of the few over the many.

Today the Democratic Party has adopted this approach. The Democratic Party is being run by a Party Elite that dictates to the members of that party how they should vote. This is nowhere more evident than in the Health Care vote. With three quarters of the American People opposed to the measure, the party elite (Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and others) decreed that Government Run Health care would be the policy of the Land. They dictated that decision to the Democrats in the House and used an array of strong-arm tactics to enforce that outcome. To their shame, the Democrats in the House of Representatives voted as they were told to vote; in full knowledge that they were going against the will of the people. Now the Obama administration is trying to propagandize the American people to believe that it was the best thing for them.

The House of Representatives is intended to represent the people; which is why the seats are allocated based on population. The Senate is intended to represent the states; with two Senators each regardless of size. The function of the House of Representative is to represent the people. When the Democrats who are members of the House of Representatives turned their backs on the people, it struck directly at the heart of Democracy. It was the darkest hour of our Democracy when the Democrats in the House followed Nancy Pelosi across the street like a political chain gang to vote as the Party instructed them; in the full knowledge that it was against the will of the People.

We are witnessing an unprecedented attack on the Free Enterprise system as well. For ten years the liberals in Hollywood have been putting out movies depicting the heads of corporations as ravenous monsters. Today Barack Obama is attacking the Financial Sector, the Manufacturing Sector, the Oil Companies and Free Enterprise itself. This is classic Marxism; class warfare designed to pit the workers against businesses so that the Party can rule them all.

Barack Obama has already established a socialist agenda to control the financial markets and industry. Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried; but it does allow the few to rule over the many. It is clear that the Obama administration is seeking the destruction of free enterprise and total control of our economy. But it does not stop with Socialism; the definition of Communism is government ownership of the means of production. Today the Obama Administration owns General Motors, one of the largest corporations in America. It is clear where his regime is going.

He has squandered our children’s and our grandchildren’s future by spending more in 6 months than the total cost of WWII over five years. The economy has not improved and it is not intended that it should. The economy has become the excuse to destroy Free Enterprise. The Free Enterprise system has been the engine of America’s prosperity. If we let that be turned into a socialist/communist economy our prosperity will evaporate and the bulk of the people will live on the edge of poverty. If you are unemployed, vote against the Democrats, if you do not you and millions of others will be unemployed for a long time. Business is not going to rebound with an Administration that is anti-business, vilifies business leaders, and creates disorder.

Now we are approaching the election of 2010. There is only one issue in this election and that is to stop the Obama regime and return the Democratic Party to a party that represents the people. The only way to do that is to vote the Democrats, all Democrats, out of office. Only in the face of a major rejection by the American people will the Democratic Party clean up its act and throw the Leftists out.

It does not matter if you are a Republican, an Independent, or a Libertarian you need to vote for a Republican. The survival of Democracy is more important than any other issues. If you are a Democrat, especially if you are a Democrat, you should be outraged. Your party has turned its back on you and is now working only for the party elite. To regain control of your party you need to vote for the opposition or withhold your vote entirely. If you allow the Democratic Party to continue down this path, they will become your rulers rather than your representatives.

And so the issue is clear. In this election we need to throw the Democrats out of power. The goal is to defeat every one of the six Democratic Representatives that turned their backs on Indiana and voted for Health Care. We need to remove the Democrats from the Senate as well. But not forever, a two party system is good. But in this election the people need to speak in a way that the politicians will hear. We need to make it clear that we will not tolerate the destruction of Democracy and the Free Enterprise System. This year, we need a Democrat free Indiana.
